Christie’s Hong Kong auction nets US$51.5m

Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels Autumn Auction achieved HK$397.08 million (around US$51.5 million) on November 29, reflecting sustained market demand for fine-quality diamond and coloured gemstone jewellery pieces.
Top-billing the sale was an emerald and diamond double rivière necklace, which sold for HK$54.25 million (around US$7 million).

Fancy colour diamonds likewise performed well, with a pair of 3.29-carat internally flawless fancy intense blue diamond earrings attracting heated bidding in the saleroom and eventually being sold to a phone bidder for HK$47.05 million (around US$6.1 million).
This was accompanied by a 4.90-carat fancy intense pink diamond ring, which sold for HK$29.05 million (around US$3.8 million) and an important fancy vivid yellow diamond ring of 18.08 carats, which fetched twice the low estimate at HK$11.05 million (around US$1.4 million).
